Mode-1 (when a positive voltage is applied to Terminal 1 with respect to Terminal 2 with a positive gate voltage) In this mode a TRIAC is turned-ON even at small voltage is applied at Gate terminal. In this condition a current I1 flows through Terminal 1 to Terminal 2. The gate current is also flows in same direction as main TRIAC current direction. Due to this overall main current is increased.
